About the Advocacy
The Philippines is one of the world’s most at risk and vulnerable countries to natural calamities. Typhoons, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes are among the disasters that frequent the country and disrupt the lives of Filipinos. Sagip Kapamilya was established in 2004 to respond to these crises. Following a wholistic disaster risk reduction framework, Sagip provides assistance to communities and works with partners for better understanding of risks, strengthening risk governance and management, investing in disaster reduction and enhancing disaster preparedness and response.
